Fees & Charges

(December 1, 2020 - Jan 31 2023)

Please treat our Zygg e-bikes as you would your own e-bike.

  • Always lock the e-bike securely to an immovable object (bike rack, lamp post etc.), using all of the lock(s) provided by Zygg.

  • Never leave the e-bike on the street, or other unsecured area, over night

  • Always remove the battery when you are leaving the e-bike locked (*our model M is the only exception, as it does not have a lockable battery and is not designed for quick removal.)

  • Ride safely, following Municipal and Provincial law - including wearing a helmet.

  • Do not perform stunts, ride roughly or otherwise stress the e-bike beyond normal usage.

  • Contact us immediately if you have any questions or concerns.

Commercial-Use on a Personal Subscription

Commercial use, such as food delivery, is not permitted on Personal plans. Violation of this Term will result in a $500 fine, plus full Liability for any damage or theft, plus any fees for kilometre overage, and may result in full suspension of your access to Zygg’s service.

Kilometre & Battery Recharging Limits

Personal subscriptions and Trial Rides have a limit of 600km and/or 30 recharging cycles per 30 day period. If you feel you will be going over this limit, please call our office to discuss. We can make arrangements to avoid overage fees.

  • Overage Fees: $0.20 / km and/or $2/battery cycle

Commercial subscriptions and Trial Rides do not have any restrictions on kilometres or battery recharging cycles at this time.

Liability for Theft and/or Damage

The Zygg Peace-of-Mind Liability Limit is designed to reduce your risk in case of theft or accidental damage.

  • The Standard Limit is $1,000 + $300 for a lockable / removable battery (provided you can show a photo of the ebike securely locked before the theft).

  • The Reduced Liability Limit is $350 + $300 for a lockable removable battery through the timely payment of a monthly reduced Liability fee (provided you can show a photo of the ebike securely locked before the theft).

  • Full Liability Limit is $3,000 + $300 for a lockable removable battery without a photo of the ebike securely locked before the theft, or without all keys after a theft.

What am I responsible for?

  1. PROPERLY LOCKING UP THE E-BIKE to an immovable object (bike stand, lamp post etc..) using the lock(s) provided by Zygg, at a minimum. For most e-bikes, that means BOTH the frame lock (attached to the e-bike) and a chain that locks into the frame lock. Do NOT leave the e-bike locked on the street or other unsecure area over night.

  2. REMOVING THE BATTERY if it is designed to quick release and/or is locked with a key mechanism. (Only the Model M e-bike does NOT have an easily removable battery. All other models should have their battery removed when parked.)

  3. TAKING A PICTURE showing the e-bike is properly locked, each time.

  4. TREATING THE E-BIKE AS IF IT WERE YOUR OWN. Excessive wear-and-tear, damage, scratches, bent wheels or other components, lost components, etc.. are all indicators of usage that is not “normal” and will result in fees and/or fines as per the Price List

  5. Reporting IMMEDIATELY to Zygg if any of the keys for your e bike's lock or battery have been lost or stolen.

IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM, CRASH OR OTHER ISSUE

  1. You must report it immediately 647.370.8880.  And stop riding the ebike.

  2. Further damage that results from riding an ebike with a problem is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY.

  3. Take photos and retrieve any lock parts (ie something has been cut), and provide these to Zygg

  4. Get Name, phone number, plate number of any 3rd party involved. Take photo of driver’s license or other ID. Get their insurance info if a car, truck or motorcycle was involved.

What is normal Wear & Tear?

  • Most flat tires

  • Small scratches, dents etc..

  • Wear on components (brakes, gears, frame, seat, racks, motor etc..) from riding the e-bike on paved roads and paths

  • Electronic component issues related to regular riding and use, or internal system errors

What is “Non-Normal” Wear & Tear?

  • Crash damage

  • Major scratches, breaks, bends etc..

  • Attempting to manipulate the system, sensors or technical components IN ANY WAY, including simulating a problem to affect an exchange for a fresh e-bike
