UBC Subsidized Purchase and Leases

1. Save up to $750: Purchase, Lease or Rent-to-Own any new or used ebike from Zygg

   • save 10% + an additional $200 off the retail price

   • For eligible UBC employment groups, the remaining balance of an e-bike purchase or subscription can be billed towards your personal spending account. Please Note:

• The UBC Subsidy is available until December 31st, 2024

• The Zygg 10% discount (this is separate from the UBC Subsidy)) is available year round on all purchases, leases, and subscriptions

• The Model Q2 (Velec Citi+) is NOT available for the subsidy.

 Ebike models for Purchase & Rent To Own:

All prices listed below are AFTER both discounts have been applied.

• You must be 18 years old to subscribe or purchase a Zygg e-bike

• You must provide a valid UBC ID Card and Proof of Employment (pay slip or employment verification letter dated within the past 30 days) to qualify for the subscription/purchase discount

  • UBC employees can obtain a copy of their employment verification letter or pay slip dated within the past 30 days through Workday

• You must pay with a credit card or debit card from a Canadian Bank in your name

• Sign our Subscription Agreement

• Provide photo ID with your home address, or Photo ID + a phone, utility etc.. bill with your home address.

• Have safe indoor parking (no front porches or backyards)

• For subscriptions our account should be approved within 1 business day and then you can choose your pickup time.

• All subscriptions will start the day that you get your ebike. Your billing cycle will be adjusted accordingly.

Theft / Damage:

You are responsible for any damage to the Zygg ebike, beyond normal wear and tear. This includes, but is not limited to:

• Damage from an accident, negligence, vandalism, weather or other reasons

• If you or a third party (such as the owner of a motor vehicle) has insurance coverage, you will be asked to pay Zygg the full amount and process the claim for reimbursement. Zygg will provide invoice and other necessary documents.

• Maximum liability for a damaged Zygg ebike

  • $2,500 including HST

  • plus $500 per battery + HST

  • or the Zygg online retail purchase price + HST, whichever is smaller
