Saturday, May 27th and Sunday May 28th is your unique opportunity for free access to cherished buildings that are rarely open to the public, or those that are graciously waiving their usual entry-fee. Now in its 23rd year, Doors Open Toronto has attracted more than two million visits to 700 exquisite locations. It is the largest event of its kind in Canada. Plan your route, hop on your bike or ebike and explore as many venues as possible. Houses of worship, cultural gems, halls of learning, engineering and architectural marvels are all on offer.
Use the handy, interactive website to research over 140 buildings and locations, filtered by map or address. It is also the perfect tool to help you plan your route. Make it an enlivening, spring adventure and link your travels into local cafes, restaurants and urban parks for a respite.
Some of the most popular sites include:
The Ismaili Centre, Toronto in Don Mills
Rouge Valley Conservation Centre in the West End
The Ontario Legislature Building at Queen’s Park
The Second City and The Elgin Winter Garden Theatre in the Entertainment District
This year, there are also guided, neighbourhood tours, design talks and discussions, and music & sound experiences throughout the weekend. Although Doors Open is advertised as being “ON” from 10am until 5pm on both Saturday and Sunday, some events /spaces have limited attendance and may require advance booking to guarantee participation.
Travel to multiple locations with Zygg ebikes and share your Doors Open experience on social media using #DOT23 and #BikeTO.
